A perfectly balanced blend of synthwave and progressive metalcore, the band continues to deliver their emotionally driven brand of music. Fans of both The Midnight and metalcore would definitely appreciate this niche that Dreamwake fulfils.

Max recommends: Following up their stellar debut single in contrasting fashion, Gore.’s “Doomsday” is a sombre, theatrical metal ballad that largely showcases the more reserved and overtly melodic side of the band’s sound, juxtaposed masterfully with their clear penchant for blisteringly heavy moments. With a great breadth in sound shown between these two singles, these heavy newcomers are showing a remarkable amount of promise for such a new face on the scene.

Jack recommends: Spill. is a to-the-point metallic hardcore project with a twist from the mind of Hilary Shanks. Consisting of crushingly harsh vocals, coupled with instrumentals that are at times reminiscent of heavy-hitters in the scene like Counterparts, this debut EP is packed with fantastic instrumentals, and poetic lyricism which is poised to be screamed along to. The twist here, is that there is a much softer side to the project, with more ambient and relaxed instrumentals ebbing and flowing throughout the chaos. These moments are, quite frankly, beautiful, and they make this debut stand out massively from it’s peers.
