Alien Weaponry Announce New Album ‘Tangaroa’

New-Zealanders Alien Weaponary are returning later this year with their sophomore album Tangaroa. This will be a follow up to their debut album , which released back in 2018. You can watch the title track’s official music video below.

Alien Weaponary are known for combining elements of thrash and groove and using lyrics in their indigenous Māori language.

Lead vocalist and guitarist Lewis de Jong when discussing the new “Tangaroa” single says: “We decided to write this song about how the ocean is being suffocated by humans and their waste. The ocean is an important part of my life, and it’s important to protect it.”

With drummer Henry de Jong adding: “‘Tangaroa’ is a heavy and angry message about how we are destroying the ocean with pollution and overfishing. The video ties in with this message, with us drowning in plastic conveying the struggle of ocean life.”

Alien Weaponary will be touring on the Gojira headliner alongside Knocked Loose this Fall, which will see them travel across the States, as well as performing at festivals such as Hard Rock Live and Aftershock.

Tangaroa will be releasing on September 17th via Napalm Records, pre-orders can be found here. For all things metal and music in general, keep it locked on Boolin Tunes.
