UK Hardcore: The best of UK Hardcore

In our third and final playlist of the UK series, we take a look at some of the best acts in the UK Hardcore scene. Containing the likes of Last Wishes and Mourning who are set to conquer America or new up and comers Pest Control and Wise Up, there will be plenty to swing about to.

Our cover features:

Mourning – Drawing on their influences of 90s upstate New York metallic hardcore, UK death metal and Scandanavian black metal, there’s plenty of haunting and heavy moments in Mourning’s discography. With their most recent release containing Disenlightenment earning them a spot on the FYA aftershow across the pond on Tampa, Florida.

Ordeal – Hailing from Birmingham, Ordeal blend early 00s mosh metal and East Coast hardcore. Regulars on tours and manitees last year, as well as releasing a trio of tracks, the quintet are making themselves a staple of UK hardcore.

Pest Control – The Leeds unit bring together a cross of thrash and hardcore to bring an intense sound to the UK scene. Dropping their debut demo in 2020, it wasn’t until 2022 that further material scene. With a double dropping of dual singles, Pest Control are fleshing out what is set to be a killer discography.

Negative Frame – Signed to The Coming Strife alongside the likes of Cauldron and Last Wishes, Negative Frame are building on their quality with each release. With last year’s EP, Small World, containing some of their best material in the form of “Freefall” and its title track. Negative Frame look set to remain at the forefront of the London hardcore scene.

Street Soldier – Yorkshire’s favourite, Street Soldier, have made a name for themselves with the hard hitting and humorous bangers. Their iconic intro to “One Man Gang” has the lead way to corkers “Straight Up Murda” and recent single “Die Widda Brain“, off their upcoming EP Original Murda Material.

Last Wishes – Now based out of Leeds, the hardcore unit were born and grew up in Northern Ireland, the experience of which they draw upon in their debut record Organized Hate. Sneaking in thrash elements to their sound, Last Wishes have made a name for themselves as one of the best acts in the UK since their release of Price of Freedom in 2018. With American audiences witnessing what they have to offer, it seems they are set to go far.

Going Off – With 2 EP releases since their formation in December 2019 and a raging leap into the live music circuit, Going Off are a band with something to say. With an intense and relentlessly energetic live
performance and songs with lyrical themes worth going off about – Going Off are a band who need
to be seen and heard
