Windwaker Announce Debut LP Love Language + Release New Single

This one has been a long time coming. Three years on from the release of their absolutely divine second EP Empire, the alternative Australian quartet Windwaker have returned with the announcement that their debut full-length record, Love Language, is finally ready. Brushing sonic shoulders with the likes of Thousand Below and The Plot In You, Windwaker have been one of the scene’s most overlooked outfits for many a year… Until now, I suspect.

The long-await reveal of Love Language is bolstered with the release of opening track ‘Beautiful’ as this record’s lead single. ‘Beautiful’ is a delightfully energetic, self-produced composition that seemingly explores the vulnerability of self in our ever-critical world.

On Love Language as a whole, Windwaker comment: Love Language details the bands’ experiences, defining fear and love as fleeting moments. The album encourages our audience to take an intuitive leap in all situations, confront themselves and their surroundings, never taking a moment presented for granted.”

Expanding on Love Language’s themes, the band go on to say: “The record sees themes of adolescence, identity, belonging, nostalgia, mindfulness, death, altered consciousness; displays typical traits of a concept album, but is left very much open-ended lyrically in its ambiguous, open-book type format.” If this description is anything to go by, Love Language will make for a particularly interesting review, with its intentionally-interpretable content.

Love Language is due for release on May 6th via Fearless Records. The album can be pre-ordered here, and the official artwork and track-listing are below.
