Static Dress Release Announce Debut EP + Release Single “sober exit(s)”

Leeds based Static Dress have today announced their debut EP Prologue…, set for release next month. With this announcement comes brand new single “sober exit(s)“, the video for which, directed by vocalist Olli Appleyard, can be viewed below.

Speaking to Rolling Stone on the track, Appleyard stated, “The song itself circles around the idea of your mind creating scenarios which do not actually exist; ‘the perfect dream world’ – centred around the idea of living by empty promises and false hope,”

The release of Prologue… will be accompanied with a comic book, authored by Appleyard, and illustrated by Tanya Kenny. The comic book will accompany the story of the EP, and is intended to be read while listening to Prologue….

Ahead of the release Static Dress continued with their cryptic ways, putting up a website titled “tbc” requiring a passcode. Previously decoders, VHS tapes and audio files have been used as methods to communicate to fans what may be coming next from the four-piece.

The nine-track EP, featuring several interludes between each track, was initially released at Slam Dunk and Static Dress’ panic room V.3. tour. Sold on CDs at these shows, track names and artwork remained hidden behind cyphers. The official release will contain minor changes to the mix, and will not include “sweet“, which was released back in June, and originally closed out the CD. This then later became referred to as “TBC” by fans, this has also been acknowledged by the band as the original naming.

Prologue… will release December 3rd via self-publishing. Pre-orders can be found here, and you can view the album’s official track listing below. For a full review of Prologue… and further news on Static Dress, stick with Boolin Tunes.
